Oops!

Oops... have already slacked at the blogging again and it has only been a week! Well we had kind of a busy week though, ok maybe not, but still...

Tuesday was my mom's birthday so I took Morgan to school to have lunch with Grandma for a nice birthday treat. It was weird to see all the little high schoolers on campus! I got there at the end of the period before lunch, had lunch in the teacher's lounge with a group of teachers (duh) and then stayed for the following period. It was funny to have a screaming baby on a high school campus and in a class room. The students didn't seem to mind though. And seriously, I think kids are getting dumber and dumber these days. I know as teenagers we all think we "know it all" but I honestly think that as a high school student I was WAY smarter than some of the kids my mom has now! I also know that teachers always say "there is no such thing as a dumb question" but I don't think that is correct anymore. I absolutely think there is such thing as a dumb question! When my mom tells her students (and writes it on the board, and went over this concept on their first lab) to write the questions for the lab in "Q & A format" and a kid asks her if he can write them out in a different way...that by ALL MEANS is a DUMB QUESTION! How many times do you have to be told how to do something before you actually understand that "oh the teacher must want things to be done this way"... Sorry for the tangent, I just am seriously amused by the students my mom has. And year after year the stories she can tell seem  to get worse! I told her after my first year in college that high schools should offer an assembly, seminar or even a class about what college is really like. I think students don't actually believe high school teachers when they say college is harder. Like one of her students said he couldn't complete the homework properly because he had a broken wrist and a cast on so he and his lab partner just "shared" the work... not an excuse! For 2 reasons! Reason #1: In college a professor, especially in a general ed class where there are like 100 students in a huge lecture hall, doesn't care WHY you didn't complete the assignment, bottom line is you didn't do it so you get no credit. Reason #2, unless specified in the beginning, it is NEVER OK to "share" your work, it's called cheating or plagiarism! Ok, sorry, once again, I digress...After I left campus, I went to my parent's house because we were going to go out to dinner.

The rest of the week was pretty boring. I just hung out at home, ran errands and did chores. Oh the exciting life of maternity leave!

I am excited that today is FRIDAY! I seem to love the weekends more and more because I actually get to spend time with Sean. He has been SO busy with work that I feel like I never see or talk to him anymore. The time we spend in the car, carpooling during our commute to work, now seems more and more like actual quality time. I mean I always thought it was but now I do even more. It is a time that we unwind and decompress from our day. We each talk about how work was and decide what's for dinner, what we are going to do that night or even plans for the weekend, etc. Then when we get home we actually get to relax and enjoy each other. Now, it seems like I don't get to talk to him much during the day, he comes home late, we eat dinner then it is all of the sudden time to go to bed! But the weekends, well obviously, I get more time with him :)!

I am also excited to go back to work. I return in 3 weeks and I couldn't be happier. Does that make me a bad mom? I hope not! I love what I do, I love the people I work with and I really do miss them! And I know mmy munchkin is going to be in great hands while I work so I am ok with that! Oh another thing I am anxious for is getting Morgan in her crib in her own room...I know, weird right? Most moms I know don't want their kiddos in another room. Some don't even want them in another bed! We have Morgan in a cradle next to my side of the bed, there was no way she was gonna fit in our queen sized bed with us... and the dog... In any event, I think she will be happier in her crib. She seems to like to stretch out and in her cradle she just can't do that. Plus she's been sleeping through the night pretty well for about 2 weeks now, so I am confident she will do well in her own room, therefore letting us get a better night sleep in our room!

That's all for now! Hope everyone has a great weekend :) I know we will!
